Asian women have been using silk in their beauty routines for a long time. Silk maintains the skin's balance as it contains protein and amino acids. Silk can help hair stay shiny, prevent tangles and sleep wrinkles.
Silk reduces friction against skin and hair. It does not absorb the skin and hair's natural oils. It also has a lovely luxurious feel to sleep on.

Mulberry silk is the highest quality in the textile world. It is smooth and soft against the skin and has a shiny and beautiful appearance.
Creating silk is a laborious process. A silk thread can be over 1 km long, and only a tenth of the thickness of a human hair. It takes 5-8 of these twisted together to create a thread.

How to wash silk
Silk is a delicate material woven from thin silk threads, so avoid letting your bedding come into contact with coarse fabrics such as jeans, work clothes and coarse bedspreads. This can damage the silk fibres in the wash. If you are only washing small silk products, such as a pillowcase, a sleep mask or a kimono, you can use a washing bag to protect the silk. Do not wash silk together with coarse fabrics or fabrics with zippers, buttons, etc. which can tear and damage the silk fibres.
Ideally, silk bedding should be washed separately in the washing machine, without any other laundry. Dark colored silk bedding can also transfer color to other fabrics during washing.
Silk is naturally antibacterial and gets cleaner at lower temperatures than cotton.
Silk is washed on a gentle cycle at 30-40 degrees with a detergent for silk, such as Milo or Gryning silk detergent. Silk is naturally antibacterial and gets cleaner at a lower temperature than cotton.

Use a low spin speed and hang the silk to dry, for example on a drying rack or shower rail. When hand washing silk, only squeeze the water out of the silk carefully before hanging it to drip dry. Alternatively, you can use a dry towel and squeeze out the moisture before ironing.
Important: Do not wring out wet silk as this can cause stretch damage to the silk fibers, and do not use a dryer.

                      Temperature regulating properties
Cooling silk bed linen - perfect for warm summer nights
Silk can hold up to 30% of its own weight in water before the fabric feels damp. Silk simply absorbs the natural moisture that the body exudes when it is hot. In addition, the silk fibers quickly release moisture using body heat and allow it to evaporate through the fabric. Silk's breathable properties are perfect for hot summer nights. Silk bedding simply feels cool against the skin!
COLD NIGHTS – WARM BED
Silk bedding has an insulating effect
Silk bedding has also played an important role on cold winter nights. Silk is a natural thermal regulator and maintains body temperature throughout the night. Thanks to the air trapped between the silk threads, heat is retained and creates an insulating effect. You might not think so because of the light weight of silk, but if you lie down in silk you will feel as if you are lying on a cloud. Even when it is cold, the soft fibers of silk bedding will envelop the body's shape perfectly and retain the natural warmth of the skin. Some call this the "embrace" of silk.

Our silk products are approved and certified
All our silk products are organic. They have the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate, and the most recognized quality standards GB18401-2003 and FZ/T43016-2003. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is an international testing and certification system for bed linen, towels and clothing.
The fact that our silk is Oeko-Tex certified means that the textile does not contain allergy- and cancer-causing dyes. The certification also provides a guarantee that the product has been tested for the content of environmental toxins such as chlorinated phenols, phthalates, organic tin compounds, etc. The standard was developed in 1992 and 17 testing institutes carry out spot tests at manufacturers who hold approved certification. You can therefore feel safe when you choose Bedtime's silk!

                      About Bedtime Collection
BEDTIME
Bedtime is a Norwegian family business that has been offering sleep-promoting products for over 25 years. The company is currently run by the family's daughter Helene. Helene's mother, a physiotherapist, and her father, a doctor, established the company together in 1997. It all started with the development of air-based mattresses for the healthcare sector. Helene has worked in the company for over 20 years, and she was an early adopter of establishing an online store with a sleep-related assortment.
Helene studied business and management in France, as well as entrepreneurship in the United States. Using her family’s health and sleep-related business as a springboard, she put her own entrepreneurial dreams into action. She introduced a new collection of bedding and bedding sets focused on good sleep, well-being, and the feeling of French luxury. This was the start of the Bedtime Collection.
BEDTIME COLLECTION
Bedtime Collection began with bamboo bedding, bedding sets, sheets and pillowcases which are still our bestsellers. As a mother of young children, Helene noticed the positive properties of bamboo textiles early on 15 years ago. Bedtime was one of the first to sell bamboo bedding in Norway. Bamboo viscose bedding is perfect for sensitive skin due to the textile's soft and itch-free properties. Bamboo viscose has a satin-like finish that is reminiscent of silk, but costs a fraction of the price.
But then it was tempting to try bedding. bedding sets and pillowcases in silk too. Helene was inspired by the French's ability to enrich everyday life with quality, and their ability to surround themselves with luxury. So why couldn't we Norwegians do the same? Bedding in Mulberry silk was introduced and quickly became a success. Silk is the most lucrative material you can choose in the textile world. It is silky soft against skin and hair and is used more and more in the beauty industry. In the Bedtime Collection you will find constantly new silk products for sleep and well-being.
We see that customers are more and more aware of their sleep health. You sleep about 1/3 of your life, a full 24 years and 4 months an average person sleeps throughout their entire life. Our overall goal is therefore to offer our customers bedding and bedding sets of the highest quality that promote a good night's sleep.
The Bedtime Collection contains products that we design and develop ourselves in Norway. We only work with carefully selected quality manufacturers all over the world. We felt that there was a lot of the same stuff out there on the market, so we aimed for a slightly different range – a range that focuses on quality sleep, well-being and aesthetics.
We draw on our team's healthcare background and our experience from the healthcare sector. We only sell what we want to sell, and what we believe can give our customers a good night's sleep. We are an independent player who is not locked into a chain and overall purchasing strategies.
