Good aesthetic design must go hand in hand with excellent functionality and good comfort. That is why our focus has always been on creating lasting designs with a modern appeal.”
It's time once again for a new collection from our favorite sofa bed supplier. So what's really new? And what's going away? Stay tuned and you'll find out 😊
What's new?
Sofas
This year there are a total of 10 new sofa models, as well as an expansion of the favorite Eivor – which now comes in two sizes, and with two different mattress choices. And no less than 9 new fabrics. We see clear trends in that they are expanding the most popular “sofa families” Ghia, Eivor, Osvald and Cubed. Ghia gets a brand new version with Ghia Haylo. Eivor, which itself is getting a facelift – gets two new little brothers in Killian and Vithus. The Osvald family with Tripi and Cornila gets 2 new members: Walis and Otris. And the favorite Cubed gets a new edition they have chosen to call Ramone! And last but not least, Vogan now comes with the option of lounges (replacing Idun Lounger).
Ghia Haylo Daybed

A vibrant evolution of the Ghia Daybed, with round cushions and standard Velour colours (red and blue). Designed by Per Weiss, this striking, playful version of Ghia fits in well with the modern geometric trend. Designed to be a multifunctional addition to any home.
Yay or Nay?
This is a joker, with red and blue velour as the standard fabric, and a somewhat out-of-the-ordinary back section, it's safe to say that this will be 2020's bestseller. But do we like it? Hell yeah.
Killian Sofa Bed

Killian is a natural evolution of the Eivor sofa, which sold beyond expectations last year. The standard colors are pretty safe: 565 Twist Granite and 577 Kenya Dark Grey – two nice grays that fit in any environment.
Yay or Nay?
Yay. Period. This one will make its way into many Norwegian homes this year.

Wallis Daybed

Osvald and Tripi get a little brother in the form of the Walis Daybed. The standard fabrics are 525 Mixed Dance Light Blue and 565 Twist Granite. Osvald has been very popular and we have faith in Walis too. A comfortable, stylish and neat sofa.
Yay or Nay?
Yay – A more affordable, smaller daybed version of Osvald. What's not to like?
Otri's Sofa Bed

Osvald and Tripi also get a big brother in the form of the Otris sofa bed. The standard textiles are 525 Mixed Dance Light Blue and 565 Twist Granite. The design by Emil Højfeldt and Per Weiss shows how a sofa bed can be both functional, flexible and full of storage. A true multifunctional sofa bed design that minimizes the use of valuable space while being a comfortable sofa bed for everyday use.
Yay or Nay?
Yay.
Ramone

Ramone is a further development of the Cubed sofa that we love so much. Ramone has black tube legs and 541 Velvet Dark Blue and 595 Corduroy Burnt Orange are the standard textile choices. Here, Per Weiss has designed a sofa (chair) that is simple, space-saving and comfortable – but also quite resilient.
Yay or Nay?
Nyay? We love it! But is Norway ready for a more industrial look and velvet/corduroy as a textile? We'll have to wait and see with excitement.

Hildur

Here, Per Weiss has designed a multifunctional sofa that invites you to see, feel and experiment. Its modular concept, removable cover and classic design offer endless possibilities. 216 Flashtex Dark Grey, 528 Mixed Dance Blue, 544 Velvet Brick Red and 578 Kenya Taupe are standard fabrics that give us a good and varied selection of fabrics.
Yay or Nay?
Yay. We've been missing removable covers, and now they're finally here! With all the options you have with this sofa, this will be a natural choice for many.
Salla

Compact and practical, the Salla sofa bed is an ideal solution for any home with limited space. Salla provides superb comfort for relaxing while easily sliding into a double bed for occasional guests. Standard fabric is 590 Micro Check Grey. Designed by Emil Højfeldt & Per Weiss
Yay or Nay?
This is probably the sofa (we feel) that best matches Ola Nordmann's sofa taste. So another Yay.
Puzzle Cubic

Puzzle Cubic is designed for convenience and embraces smaller, urban living spaces. The purpose of Puzzle Cubic is to give space instead of taking it. The previous generation Puzzle was more of a “special interest” rather than a big seller, but in the Cubic edition, Flemming Højfeldt, Andreas Lund and Per Weiss have really upgraded the comfort with an excess pocket spring mattress and given Puzzle some completely new vibes. The standard fabric is 577 Kenya Dark Grey.
Yay or Nay?
We can't wait to try it out, but if it's as comfortable as we imagine, it's a definite Yay from us!
White House

Vithus is Per Weiss's further development of Eivor, with armrests similar to Hermod. The standard textile is 590 Micro Check Grey.
Yay or Nay?
“Pull-out” sofas are all the rage, but are people falling for the Hermod look? We give it a thumbs up and are following with interest.
New textiles
This year there are lots of exciting new textiles. Among the new items we find 1 new Bouclé textile: Off White – 2 new Velvet textiles, in the colours Brick Red and Army. The Velvet textiles measure 82,000 on the Martindale scale, which means they are very durable. In comparison, the Norwegian standard (NS-EN 14465:2003/A1:2006) is 20,000 minimum for normal use, 25,000 for heavy use and 50,000 for public environments (buses/trains, etc.). There is also a new Faunal textile (Black), a new Kenya Textile (Gravel), a new grey colour: Mikro Check Grey, 2 new Corduroy textiles (Burnt Orange and Dark Grey) and a new Blida Sand Grey.
What's going out?
Outgoing sofas
Thyra, All You Need, Recast Plus Special, Idun with lounger and Masica are making their exit in the 2020 collection. We feel these are good choices, but we will probably miss Idun with lounger.
Outgoing textiles
520 Mixed Dance dark grey, 538 Melange Light Grey, 540 Velvet Forrest Green, 562 Twist Dark Green, 564 Twist Black, 613 Linen Ash Grey and 686 Dusty Rose are being discontinued, while 612 Linen Sand Grey is being replaced with 612 Blida Sand Grey (same colour, different textile).
